See Miley's Engagement Ring!

After dating for three years, teen starlet Miley Cyrus and Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth sealed the deal yesterday with the sparkler you see above, according to People magazine. The antique-style engagement ring from Hollywood jeweler Neil Lane features a cushion-cut 3.5-carat center diamond that was handcrafted in the late 19th century. Lane told People that when Hemsworth, 22, first came to him about creating a one-of-a-kind ring, he said he wanted “something unusual, really beautiful and romantic.” The 19-year-old Cyrus is now proudly wearing a handcrafted 18-karat gold ring that has exquisite floral detail around the band. Describing the center stone, Lane said, “It was hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it’s unique and in its original form.” He added that "at that time no two diamonds were alike, as they were all hand-cut, so it’s fascinating to look at because it hasn’t been re-cut to look contemporary over the years. I find that really romantic.” Lane sculpted the gold setting to fit the shape of the diamond, and set smaller diamonds in the gold band to accent the main stone. “It’s a contemporary design based on vintage aesthetics,” he said. “The light flashes and sparkles no matter where Miley moves her hand.” Diamond expert Mitchell Egenberg estimated the ring to be valued at approximately $100,000, depending on the color of the diamond. The ecstatic Cyrus took to her Twitter page writing, “Thank you for all the love today. I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true.” Visit Ben David Jewelers on Facebook Visit BenDavidJewelers.com
